These useful tips will help you move your piano safely and keep it in good condition. Here’s what you need to do:

Remove all the items around the piano, especially if you have carpeted floors.
Call a piano moving company to help with the move, especially if you have stairs or small spaces in your home.
Turn off the power to the piano before you move it.
Unscrew the legs of the piano and lay them on top of the piano.
Cover your hand with a thick towel, then place it over the keys to keep from getting scratched by them.
Place a piece of plywood or other sturdy material under the piano and slide it along the floor.
Lift the front of the piano using a dolly, then move it to your desired location.
Place the legs back on the piano and secure them with screws.
Flip the power back on.
